You are starting NetBeans on Mac and getting the error "JDK is missing...". To fix this error, follow these steps:
Steps to Fix JDK is Missing Error on Mac for NetBeans
Open the Terminal app and execute the following command to view the Java home path:
echo $JAVA_HOME
You will get the Java home path something like below:
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.10.jdk/Contents/Home
Now copy this path.
Then locate the netbeans.conf file on your Mac. The location would be as below (depends on your NetBeans version):
/Applications/NetBeans/NetBeans 8.2.app/Contents/Resources/NetBeans/etc
Open the netbeans.conf file and find the string "netbeans_jdkhome". If you find this line commented using hash (#), then remove the hash to uncomment.
Now paste the Java home path you copied above for the netbeans_jdkhome setting as shown below:
netbeans_jdkhome="/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.10.jdk/Contents/Home"
Save the changes to the netbeans.conf file and rerun the NetBeans, and it will start without any errors.
