You can do a lot in APEX without ever submitting a page, but occasionally a solution requires you to perform a "Submit Page" action. I haven't yet found a definition of what happens when a page is submitted. Can anyone point to an explanation?

One of the bread and butter jobs of being an ORACLE Forms developer is loading user files through the application. Now that I am learning APEX, I find that internet documentation skirts around this, and if I am reading it correctly, such a thing cannot be done. Instead, you have to upload the file to the server first. Even then, I find internet information a bit hard to follow on this topic. Can someone provide a simple example to allow a user to upload a file for use in an APEX application.
I have an APEX 20.2 application where I can upload image files and display them in cards. Because the cards only display a small version of the image, I want to launch a modal form to display just the image at a decent size. When I do this by just displaying the image column as "Display Image", I get the image at a larger scale which is heavily cropped to fit inside the page. Is there an easy way to display the image so it fits without cropping?
I have an APEX 20.2 page region based on selecting rows from a table. This works fine, but if I want an administrator to see all records, I would have thought I could add the line: OR apex_acl.has_user_role(:APP_ID, :APP_USER, 'ADMINISTRATOR') An example would be: select ALBUM_TITLE, YEAR_OF_RELEASE, ALBUM_ID, ARTIST_ID, ALBUM_TYPE_ID, COMMENTS, COVER_ART_BLOB_CONTENT, COVER_ART_MIME_TYPE from MUSIC_ALBUMS where 0=1 OR apex_acl.has_user_role(:APP_ID, :APP_USER, 'ADMINISTRATOR') But when I do this, the query returns the error ORA-20999: Failed to parse SQL query! <p>ORA-06550: line 10, column 66: ORA-00920: invalid relational operator</p> What am I doing wrong?
I have a button in my 20.2 apex application and I want it to only run PL/SQL code if two page items both have a value. If I was only checking one page item, I could create a dynamic action with true and false actions based on an ITEM IS NOT NULL condition. How do I extend this to validating 2 items, each with a separate error message.
I am using APEX 20.2 on the apex.oracle.com site. I have a page with a tree. I have a button which adds a new entry. It contains an action to update the database, an action to refresh the tree, and an action to expand the tree again (as the refresh collapses it). Everything works fine except the tree does not expand. However, I use the same expand tree action on loading and it works just fine there. Any clues?
