Hi,
I am working on IG and on update of Start and End Position I am calling a Validation which returns the duplicate exists or not for the same identifier.
When I press Save. It gives me error for "Identifier" item "Must have value" (But Identifier do have value)
Please refer to the screenshot.
Also I felt that if I change any item in IG and immediately press save it does not take into account the new value. Do we have to handle it explicitly?

Hi!
Did you set up the primary column?
I think It would be easier to solve with a demo application on apex.oracle.com.
Richa
Hi,
Yes the primary column is there.
My concern is when I enter the value in Identifier Column and directly press Save button it shows me the error.
But if I enter a value in Identifier column and press tab and then press Save button it will not show me error.
Why is this so? Do Items need some kind of partial submit?

Hi,
My observation in this case is :
When I use separate SAVE button it is generating this situation.
But the same thing , if done using IG's SAVE button it doesn't give error.
Is there a way to explicitly call IG Save button on click of External Save Button.

You can use custom save process to save data, with custom save button.
Richa
Hi,
Can you share information on how to use custom save button for IG.

Click on IG, in Page Designer right pane (Property Editor) go to Attributes > Toolbar section, you can uncheck save button.
Then just create new button and try to save data.

Do not use the IG save button; hide it. Create an external Save button to submit the page, and it will save the IG data. Then create one more process after the IG process and validate the data. If you found any discrepancies, then raise the error. When you raise the error, it will rollback any changes made by the user in the grid or form.
