Follow these steps to create and use global variables in Oracle Apex.
Go to Shared Components > Application Items and create an item, for example, G_XYZ, and set its scope as Global.
To use this item in all other applications, you will have to set the same session cookie for all the shared applications. To do this:
Go to Shared Components > Authentication Schemes > Click on the current scheme, and in the Session sharing section, specify the Type as Custom and specify the cookie name, for example, MYAPP1.
Now open another application in the same workspace and go to Shared components > Application Items and create an item with the same name you created in your previous application (G_XYZ) and set its scope global.
Then go to Shared Components > Authentication Schemes > Click on the current scheme, and in the Session sharing section, set its type to Custom and specify the same cookie name MYAPP1.
Now in any of these applications, if you will set the G_XYZ value, it will be accessible from both apps. To set the value use the following PL/SQL command:
amrit
